Biji mantras are one syllable sounds that activate and balance the chakras. By repeating the mantras, you resonate with that energy to awaken the superpowers of each chakra.

Biji Mantra: RAM

Sit in a comfortable seated position with your spine straight and body relaxed. Take a few deep breaths to ground and centre yourself.

Visualise a bright yellow ball of light below your breastbone. Inhale deeply, then chant the biji mantra; RAAAAMMMMMM…….

Yellow foods energise the solar plexus chakra and balance the mental body.

Try to include plenty of yellow foods in your diet this week.

Yellow foods: Banana, pineapple, lemons, Asian pears, Golden delicious apples, ginger, yellow peppers, yellow courgette, sweetcorn, onions, squash, potatoes, polenta.

Can you think of any other yellow foods?

Carbohydrates energise the solar plexus chakra. Yellow juices and smoothies are great for balancing manipura.

Yellow crystals are happy, energetic and optimistic. They are good for focusing the mind and increasing alertness.

Crystals: All yellow crystals are good for balancing the solar plexus chakra. Examples include; tigers eye, yellow jasper, yellow citrine, lemon quartz, golden beryl and yellow sapphire.

Aromatherapy assists the body’s natural ability to heal.

Aromatherapy: Lemon is really good for balancing the solar plexus chakra. It develops focus and concentration in the mind and increases energy. It is also a great cleanser for the body and mind. Other essential oils that are good for the solar plexus chakra include; lemongrass, bergamot, cardamom, peppermint, ginger, rosemary and black pepper.

Yoga is a fun way to balance the chakras. Practice outside in the sunshine to really connect with this chakra.

Play around with dragon pose to invoke your inner power!

P.S. Go to the beach and have some fun!

Yoga poses: Sun salutations, dragon, boat, bow, plank, seated twists, lying down twists, chair, standing balances. All poses that require core strength activate this chakra. Twists are also really good for stimulating manipura. Can you think of any other poses that help you to feel strong and confident?
