Biji mantras are one syllable sounds that activate and balance the chakras. By repeating the mantras, you resonate with that energy to awaken the superpowers of each chakra.

Biji Mantra: AUM

Sit in a comfortable seated position with your spine straight and body relaxed. Take a few deep breaths to ground and centre yourself.

Visualise a bright indigo ball of light between your eyebrows. Inhale deeply, then chant the biji mantra; AAAUUUUUUMMMMMMMMM…….

You may notice the image above from last weeks blog post. Indigo is a shade of blue, a dark purplish blue. You’ll notice the blue foods we introduced last week for the throat chakra are quite dark. The same foods we enjoyed last week are also good for the third eye chakra.

Indigo foods harmonise and balance the third eye chakra.

Try to include plenty of indigo foods in your diet this week.

Indigo foods: Blueberries, blackberries, black olives, raisins, prunes, dates, and black beans.

Can you think of any other indigo foods?

The rays of indigo crystals emanate mystery, intuition and wisdom. They are introspective, calming and good for visioning.

Crystals: All indigo crystals help to balance the third eye chakra. Examples include; lapis lazuli, sodalite, flourite, azurite, angelite, celestite, tanzanite, iolite, indigo gabbro and moonstone.

Aromatherapy assists the body’s natural ability to heal.

Aromatherapy: Clary sage is the oil of clarity and clear seeing. It is great for the third eye chakra. It opens the creative channels and clears the mind so new ideas can flow.

Other essential oils that are good for the third eye chakra include; sandalwood, frankincense and copaiba.

Meditation is great for balancing this chakra.

Sit under a tree and focus on your third eye. Allow yourself to enjoy the stillness and calm, peaceful energies.

Yoga poses: Meditation, lotus, hero, child, forward fold, mountain, tree and warriors poses. Any posture where you focus your gaze on one specific point will help to strengthen this chakra.
